Your Connection with the Balkans
We offer tranportation from carton to truck in our portfolio. Choose a type of transportation which you prefer. Whether it is a system of our regular groupage lines or an exclusive truck just for your shipment. We offer also transportation of dangerous goods according to ADR, transport of goods for trade fairs and exhibitions, transportation of electronics or other valuable and insured consignments and removals of individuals or companies.
We Offer These Types of Transport
Truck (full truck load) transportation means using the entire capacity of the truck for a single customer and shipping a parcel from the loading place to the place of designation without reloading. In international transportation, the unloading place is in another country. For these types of shipments, GTL offers customers its own trucks, or uses haulage contractors (offers forwarding), and issues the necessary documents.
The maximum weight for transportation to the Balkans is around 22,5 tons per truck.
A standard semi trailer has a capacity of 13,6 cargo meters (cargo meter = one meter per vehicle when its entire width is used), or rather 90 cubic meters (cbm). In the system of full truck load transportation (road transport), customers may also choose from delivery vans, solos and large volume units, where the capacity is lower/higher. GTL is a specialist in transportation to/from Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, FYROM, Moldova, the Western Balkan countries and Cyprus.

Partial truck load (less than truck load) means that the customer doesn’t use the entire capacity of the vehicle, but reserves only a part. The advantage of this is that the customer pays only for the part of the vehicle used and doesn’t have to pay for the whole vehicle. The trained and experienced GTL coordinators will effectively put together the documents needed to ensure their customers an appropriate speed of delivery with the maximum usage of truck space, even for smaller vehicles (solos, delivery vans), and for the minimum price. Smaller vehicles (solos, delivery vans) are only possible in Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. In its partial truck load system, GTL transports parcels weighing 3000 kg to 20000 kg. This may vary, however, depending on the specific destination.
In its system of truck transportation, partial truck transportation and collection services, GTL offers the transportation of dangerous goods under the supervision of its own safety consultant. Dangerous cargo are goods or materials that are flammable, combustible, corrosive, etc. and can cause personal injuries or damage to property and the environment during transportation.
According to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), the international transportation of dangerous goods is allowed only if all of the conditions for transportation are fulfilled. These are primarily: appropriate packaging and labeling of the transported goods, the structure, operation and equipment of the vehicles transporting the dangerous cargo and driver training.
According to the ADR, dangerous goods are divided into 13 classes:
Class 1 - Explosive materials and substances
Class 2 - Gases
Class 3 - Flammable liquids
Class 4.1 - Flammable solids, Self-reactive substances, polymerizing substances and solid desensitized explosive
Class 4.2 - Spontaneously combustible solids or liquids
Class 4.3 - Dangerous when wet
Class 5.1 - Oxidizing agents
Class 5.2 - Organic peroxides
Class 6.1 - Toxic substances
Class 6.2 - Infectious substances
Class 7 - Radioactive materials
Class 8 - Corrosives
Class 9 - Miscellaneous
GTL offers the transportation of all dangerous goods except for classes 1 and 7 and fulfills all of the ADR conditions. It also transports subclass 1.4 S (e.g. entertainment pyrotechnics). The sender is obligated to prepare the shipment in accordance with these regulations, i.e. it must be correctly packaged, labelled and accompanied with the appropriate transportation documents – safety papers.
To answer customers’ questions, GTL offers consultation services (depending on the range of the agreed services either for a fee or as part of the haulage price). Contact a GTL safety consultant: Mrs. Romana Hampacherova, e-mail: romana@gtl.cz.
